Top Places to Spend New Year’s Eve in the US

Celebrating New Year’s Eve offers endless traveling possibilities. Will you spend it in Times Square watching the ball drop? Bar crawling on Bourbon Street? Watching fireworks on the beach?  Whatever you choose, these American cities will help you ring in the New Year the right way.

New York City

If you want to be at the center of the action, head to the Big Apple for New Year’s Eve. You can watch the ball drop in Times Square, attend exclusive parties, or just catch the views: the fireworks over the city’s skyline are worth the trip alone.

New Orleans

If you can’t make it to Mardi Gras, make sure to hit New Orleans up for New Year’s. The city offers a block party on Jackson Square, live music, plenty of quirkiness, and endless good times at the bars and clubs along Bourbon Street.

Las Vegas

Even for non-gamblers, Las Vegas can hardly be beaten as a travel destination year-long. During New Year’s, the city shows its taste for celebrating with entire streets blocked off for parties, fantastic fireworks from the casinos, and plenty of clubs and bars to hop.

The Windy City knows how to have a good time. With photo-worthy shots of fireworks over the skyline, plenty of fun attractions at Navy Pier, and the famous Chicago Resolution Gala to attend, you’ll be pretty busy. For a chilly yet unforgettable experience, take a firework cruise on Lake Michigan near midnight: the views will be spectacular.

Put a twist on a classic and watch the fireworks over the ocean next to palm trees. Attend the Party of the Year at Aloha Tower or head to Waikiki Beach to luau into the New Year. You’re sure to start the coming year off right with live music, DJs, unforgettable food, and the sand between your toes.
