Top 5 Binge-Worthy Netflix Shows for Fall
Netflix binge-watching is something we all have become accustomed to. Now matter how many times we say “I will just watch one episode”, we somehow end up watching an entire season. Now with fall officially upon us all of our inner horror fans and adrenaline seekers are coming out. So why don’t we put these two together? Here we have the top 5 binge-worthy horror shows on Netflix this fall season:
Stranger Things just came out this year, and it brings a lot to the table. With thrills, Sy-fy, comedy and even a little bit of romance, this show will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout every minute of the total 8 episodes. If you get to the end and you can’t believe that is all there is, don’t worry Netflix has released that season 2 of Stranger Things will be coming out sometimes in 2017.
This is another Netflix Original series and is one of the very first ones the Netflix ever released. Hemlock Grove adds a new twist to the classic legends of Vampires and Werewolves and adds the mystery of Gypsies into the mix. Warning, this show is not for the faint of heart as there are many graphic scenes. However, if that is exactly what you are looking for then it is not hard to quickly get wrapped up in this twisted horror-themed show.
American Horror Stories
I could go through and list all of the seasons separately, but for that I would need a separate article. American Horror Stories takes a new look at horror every season. Don’t get confused, and try to keep up as the same actors play new, unique characters every season. The main players are Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange, but there are many more that continue to return. Watch Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show and Hotel and pay attention to the little details. The writers say this season (My Roanoke Nightmare) is the season to piece them all together.
This show is a Historical Fiction that takes you back to the witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts. The story is a new take on the characters of The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne. If you’re thinking the book bored you in school, don’t worry this show will do nothing of the sort. Watch the twists and turns of the story, the panic of the townspeople, and the power of the witches, with never a dull moment.
The Walking Dead
This one is for all you Zombie lovers out there, but even if you are not a Zombie fan do give this one a try. The Walking Dead takes on the post-apocalyptic world and focuses more on group dynamic and the challenges of surviving with dwindling resources, more than the constant threat of the Walkers(Zombies). You also come in contact with many fun, sadistic, charismatic villains, and many decisions that make you judge the morality of Sheriff Rick’s crew. All seasons are now on Netflix so move quick and catch up before October 23 when season 7 airs on AMC.
Add any new shows to your list? Or are you a horror junky and already checked all of these off? If not, curl up grab plenty of snacks and drinks and be prepared to hide behind your cozy blanket; it’s binging time.
