Summer Hollywood Blockbuster Releases

Summer is one of the hottest movie seasons, with large blockbuster releases and competitive box office records. Already, Hollywood has unveiled huge movies this summer from the highly-rated Jurassic World to Terminator Genisys, attracting millions of theater-goers, but summer isn’t over and franchise fans are awaiting the next round of films to hit the big screen. Here’s a look at what’s yet to come from Hollywood.

Ant-Man

This film is the next and twelfth installment of the marvel Cinematic Universe (which, if you don’t know already, is a huge franchise that keeps on growing). Paul Rudd brings to life “Ant-Man,” who is the super tiny superhero alter ego of Scott Lang. Lang must help his mentor and former hero Dr. Hank Pym keep the mystery of the Ant-Man technology safe–technology that allows the user to decrease in size but increase in strength. With new threats to the technology and the world, Ant-Man and his team must work together to save the Earth.

Trainwreck
Opens July 17, 2015 in North America
One of Summer 2015’s long-awaited comedy’s, this film is full of comedians, laughs and lessons about love and life. It stars Amy Schumer, who also wrote the film, and Bill Hader. They both play the leading love interests. The film follows Amy, a young woman fearful of commitment due to her father’s lessons growing up that monogamy isn’t real. While she has a successful career and great life, she often finds an excuse for breaking up with someone. But soon an interview with a sports doctor turns into her biggest fear–a man who has no defects, flaws or hangups–leaving her with no justification for breaking up.

This film, long-awaited by video game enthusiasts and tech junkies, is a fun, action-packed video game world. The premise begins in 1982, when NASA tries to establish peaceful communication with aliens–but when the aliens interpret video game feeds as a declaration of war, they begin attacking Earth with various video game models, such as Pac-Man, Donkey Gong, Space Invaders, Tetris and more. The film stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Peter Dinklage, and many more to take on the video game war.

Vacation
Opens July 29, 2015
Following the trend of summer comedies, Vacation is the sixth installment of the National Lampoon’s Vacation series. It stars Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Leslie Mann and chris Hemsworth. The film follows Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) who is the son of Clark (Chevy Chase), as he attempts to follow in his father’s footsteps and surprise his family on a cross-country trip, and, as you imagine, nothing goes as planned.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation

Tom Cruise reprises his role as Agent Ethan Hunt in this American action spy film. When his agency comes under threat from the Syndicate (an organization of assassins and rogue operatives), Hunt must assemble his team for their final and most difficult mission–to help unveil the Syndicate’s existence and bring down the organization.
