J.K. Rowling to Post New Harry Potter Story

Harry Potter fans rejoice! A new Harry Potter story will be gracing the Pottermore website this Halloween from J.K. Rowling. After the release of an epilogue to the seventh book in the beloved series, Rowling is at it again with a new twist to a back story. Instead of focusing on Harry Potter, Ron, and Hermione, this story will focus on Dolores Umbridge. This interesting twist to the rest of the stories will give fans a look into an interesting back story about a very important enemy of Harry Potter.

Dolores Umbridge was malicious, cruel and only the second character to leave a permanent scar on Harry with the phrase “I must not tell lies” carved into his arm from the Blood Quill. She first appeared in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth book in the series, and has been a crucial foe ever since. This unique opportunity for a back story can hopefully shed some light on to why she is so cruel and how she became to be who she is. Rowling also promises her own first-person thoughts on the character.

Only time will tell how this story will be received by fans, but if it is anything like her last release, fans will be very anxious to read the new addition to the Harry Potter story. When Rowling released the epilogue last July, the Pottermore website had so much traffic that it temporarily went down. With fans awaiting her new release just as excitedly, we can only expect similar traffic on the site. This won’t deter Potter fans, as new details and insights into the beloved tale will be waiting online.
