Don’t Miss These November Events in Hudson Valley

Hudson Valley has no shortage of festivals and events even as we reach the last few months of 2013. Check out their cultural and entertainment events for the month of November, where arts and crafts meet the bliss of libation.

November 1, 2, 3: Crafts Fair at Purchase

Under the direction of Artrider Productions, Crafts at Purchase is a benefit event whose proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. The show now lasts for three days and has been redesigned. New artists are coming to perform, and exhibitors from all over the country will be promoting their artworks.

Support this event on the following days and times: November 1, 3 to 8 pm; November 2, 10 am to 6 pm; November 3, 11 am to 5 pm.

Tickets are for sale at $10 for adults, and $9 for seniors. Children aged 15 and under enter free. Parking is already included in the ticket price.

November 2: Hudson Valley Brew Fest

Visit the Brew Festival in Poughkeepsie from 2 to 6 pm at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center. Get a taste of beer samples from the best breweries in Hudson Valley, as well as New York and other states and countries. Participating breweries will be coming from San Francisco, Hawaii, Brussels, New Hampshire, Oregon, and lots more.

Get your tickets early to get a good price of $36; otherwise, tickets are sold at the entrance at $45. You can avail of the commemorative tasting cup, samples of beer, and live performances from Charlie Sabin Acoustic and WPDH’s Tigman.

November 3: Taste of the Hudson Valley

After the beer drinking, Poughkeepsie will entertain locals and visitors for a sampling of the best wines in the world and the finest culinary delights in Hudson Valley and beyond. Expect about 100 delightful food and wine pairings on this event. Your participation will also benefit the Saint Francis Hospital and Health Center, which is the busiest Level II Trauma Center in New York. November 4 to 17: Hudson Valley Restaurant Week

For 14 days, prepare your appetites for the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week where the area’s best chefs will prepare the scrumptious meals you can find at a price that’s easy on your wallet. Choose from a variety of bistros and fine dining restaurants and join 200,000 diners all over the valley.

Lunch prices go for $20.95 and dinner at $29.95, excluding beverages, tax, and tip.

November 17: International Pickle Festival

Bring your family and friends to the Community Center in Rosendale for the Pickle Festival! Expect various dishes to fill your watering mouths while you enjoy the live music. Pickled goods and souvenirs will be up for grabs and join the Pickle Judging and Contests! Lots of prizes will be given away! The Pickle Festival starts at 10 am to 5 pm.

November 23 and 24: Wreath Fineries at the Wineries

One of the most popular events of the year in Hudson Valley, the Wreath Fineries at the Wineries is a festive way to start experiencing the holiday spirit. Choose a winery as your starting point and check-in with your event ticket and valid ID. You will receive a grapevine wreath, an ornament from that winery, and an ornament from the wine trail. You’ll also get a souvenir wine glass that you can use to sample the wines by local producers.

November 30: Windham Chamber Music Festival

Watch the Windham Festival Chamber Orchestra conducted by Robert Manno at the Windham Chamber Music Festival. The concert starts at 8 pm at the Doctorow Center for the Arts. Reserve your seats now and experience their live rendition of music by Bach, Grieg, Aaron Copland, and Vivaldi.
