6 Greatest Finn Moments

Glee cast member Cory Monteith, aka Finn Hudson, was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver on Saturday night. Friends, family, costars, and fans are all mourning the loss of Cory at the too young age of 31. To commemorate his great talent, we’ve put together our five favorite Glee moments starring Finn Hudson.

6. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Finn’s sweet self-consciousness when he was asked to be scantily clad in the glee club’s performance of Rocky Horror Picture Show was one of the most endearing Finn moments. Cory’s totally easy to relate to portrayal of a teenage boy helped to show that body consciousness isn’t just for girls. And the hilariously quirky episode is a personal favorite, as well.

5. “It’s My Life/Confessions”

This episode, in which the students all get hopped up on energy pills from the school nurse, is light-hearted and hilarious. Finn’s adorable portrayal of a bouncing-off-the-walls teen is beyond funny in this performance of a way cool mashup. The song is great, the boys have awesome outfits, and Finn shines. I can’t find a good video, but you can listen to the song here.

4. “Jesse’s Girl”

The Finn-Rachel-Jesse love triangle didn’t require the same emotional depth as some of Finn’s other story lines, but the fact that it culminated in this performance was pretty excellent. Cory’s ability to showcase his voice in performances while still communicating the thoughts and feelings behind the song choice was one of his many strengths. See the video here.

3. The Proposal

Fans were divided as to whether or not Finn and Rachel should get married so young, but even the skeptics can’t deny the emotional power of the proposal scene. Cory’s perfect portrayal of earnest, awkward Finn melted a lot of hearts in this episode. Watch the scene here.

2. “Stand by You”

Finn’s confusion and emotion regarding his unborn child brought to life the very real complications of teen pregnancy. The story line was one of many that made Glee such a huge hit during its first season. Through Cory Monteith’s portrayal of Finn, we were able to see him mature and grow as he shouldered the responsibility of helping his young girlfriend through her pregnancy. “Stand by You”, sung beautifully to his unborn child’s ultrasound, was an emotional moment for Finn and Glee’s viewers. See the video here.

1. “Don’t Stop Believing”

The song that started it all. Still gives me goosebumbs. ‘Nuff said. Watch it here.

RIP Cory Monteith.
