Who Do You Think Will Win The Voice?

Although I’ve gotten sick of American Idol, I am, admittedly, a big fan of NBC’s The Voice. No, it’s not just because I like to oogle at the handsome Adam Levine or giggle at Cee Lo’s ridiculous outfits and pets. I do like all the judges, I like the style of the show, and I think they get a pretty interesting and varied batch of contestants.

It’s always so difficult for me to pick a favorite because a lot of the contestants are so different. However, I think this season will come down to Amber Brown and Trevin Hunte. At this point, there seems to be no question they will make it to the very end. They’re ridiculously good and have so much passion and soul. Nothing against the other participants at all, but these two give me goosebumps every time they sing. Especially Trevin. His audition for The Voice has close to 3 million views on YouTube. He’s so timid with such a powerful voice. I love it.

In fact, I’ve never purchased a song from The Voice on iTunes, but this time around I just had to buy Trevin Hunte’s version of Listen. I think having the songs available on iTunes is actually a really great idea. I might even buy more, especially since they are the full versions and not the shortened ones from the show.

My other favorites are Sylvia YacoubMelaine Martinez, and Nicholas David. Sylvia’s performance of The One Who Got Away was pretty powerful (at least the beginning was – I understand the fire but I wish she would have tamed down the entire thing). I actually might like her version better than the original (again, the slow part). Melanie has a great style and has a unique voice – I know a lot of people don’t care for her (my mom included), but I think she’s great and has a lot of potential for being so young. Nicholas is talented and goofy and I just love him. His performance of Barry White was just great, and so were Adam’s remarks about it.

I can’t wait to tune in tonight and hear more from all the contestants. It’s going to be a close call.
